My wife and I have 12 kids and they all like to eat....(we found something we were good at LOL and no, we dont have a TV!)That's her on the left she loves shopping at Costco. Seriously though I do love cooking for my wife and kids, every Sunday all the married kids come over to the house with all the grand kids and we spend the day together after church. We eat and talk and have a great time and I cook.

There is just something special about a great bowl of chili on a cold or rainy day. One of my favorite memories as a kid growing up is when my Grandfather would take me to his favorite restaurants for lunch "The Paris Coffee Shop". He would order us both a big bowl of chili and I would sit there and enjoy my chili, while he talked to all his retired buddies at our table.

I really enjoyed eating my chili as I listened to my Grandfather and his friends talk and laugh as they told the same stories to each other... over and over week after week. Yes I do believe that my quest for my "Award Winning Chili Recipe" came from those early days as a kid. After I got married I began to experiment with different chili recipes constantly and about twenty five years ago I really struck gold. I started Winning many of the "Chili Cook-Offs" I entered.... as a matter of fact I have won "First Place" five times, but what is even more impressive is that I have never placed lower than third. Now think about it.... all judges have a different idea about what they think is best.. so no one is going to win every time.

My chili must be "Pretty Good" to always be in the "Top Three"!! Most everyone thinks my Chili is really good and demands more. My Grandfather passed away a few years ago but he really loved my chili as a matter of fact he would call me up at least a couple of times a month and ask me if I wouldn't mind making him a pot of my chili, how could I say no to the Worlds Greatest Granddad. My wife and kids are hooked on the stuff as well.
